Stream 7 rings (Remix) feat. 2 Chainz by Ariana Grande from desktop or your mobile device. Feb 1, 2019 - Ariana Grande is sitting atop the Billboard Hot 100 right now with '7 Rings,' a smoldering pop-rap single that's nowhere near as aesthetically.
Ariana Grande's '7 Rings' may have been the first pop song to be accused of biting several popular hip-hop songs at the same time. Princess Nokia and Soulja Boy got at Ariana Grande's neck for supposedly biting their flow. 2 Chainz called her out on Instagram for seemingly biting the pink trap house aesthetic from Pretty Girls Like Trap Music. In a turn of events, Ariana Grande ended up getting 2 Chainz on the remix to the song which arrived a few days after the controversy. 2 Chainz sat down with Genius and explained how the collab came about.
'I want to say it didn't bother me, but once again, you don't want to get caught up into that, man, you're petty,' he said. 'I've thought that somebody has taken a little something out of my DNA before, and I haven't said anything because I don't want anybody... It's supposed to be... what is it? Flattering, or whatever it's supposed to be. But in this particular case, I've known her manager for a very fucking long time. You know what I'm saying? And I guess it was a lot of slack actually coming on their end as well, not just from me.'
He explained that they ended up meeting in person which changed his perspective. After she admitted that she thought it was clear she was paying homage, they cleared the air and ultimately worked on two songs -- the '7 Rings' remix and a song for his album.
'It was just one of those things where I didn't even know you were a fan of mine, and we built a rapport. And I obviously did the- she did a song for me first, actually, while I was there. And she opened up her mouth and a damn angel came out and I was like, “Yo, this little girl can sing!” And then I obviously did the remix for them while I was there. And she just was super excited about trying to put it out, clear the space or whatever.'

UPDATE (2/1): It's here! Listen to 2 Chainz's remix of Ari's '7 Rings,' below:
ORIGINAL STORY (1/31): It looks like a 2 Chainz remix of Ariana Grande's '7 Rings' could be coming at midnight—despite the rapper having seemingly lightly shaded Grande for similarities between the house featured in her video and his famous pink Atlanta trap house.
XXL pointed out 2 Chainz's reaction to Grande's video about two weeks ago, after the rapper called the pop star out on Instagram on Jan. 19. Posting a clip of her video, the hip-hop star wrote, 'Tryna figure out if I should Big Draco @arianagrande.' ('Big Draco' is a reference to Soulja Boy, who also called the Sweetener singer out for apparently jacking his song 'Pretty Boy Swag' for '7 Rings.')
Ironically, some fans also claimed that Grande had plagiarized the lyrics and theme of 2 Chainz's 2011 track 'Spend It' for her own song about luxury.
